Why Supporting Women's Health Matters
Women’s health issues are often misunderstood, under-recognised, unsupported and stigmatised, leaving people without the right support at work, in education or in care settings.
This can affect wellbeing, confidence, participation and performance. As a result:
- Students miss education.
- Conditions go undiagnosed.
- Employees leave work or underperform.
- Managers feel ill-equipped to help.
- Families struggle to provide support.
- Individuals feel isolated and unheard.
- Employers face staff retention issues.
HER bridges the gap between awareness and practical support.

Meet Kate
I've lived with a women’s health condition called endometriosis since I was 14 years old.
Like many women, I spent years navigating education, employment and everyday life without understanding what was happening to my body, or how to ask for the support I needed. From struggling through school and university to having my value in the workplace overshadowed by my sickness record, I experienced first-hand what happens when people genuinely want to help but don't know how.
I began working in disability support before joining the Jersey Employment Trust, where I worked alongside employers, schools, care providers and community organisations to create more inclusive environments. Supporting organisations to navigate policies, legislation and workplace adjustments gave me a deep understanding of how to turn good intentions into meaningful action.
Alongside my professional career, I've spent more than six years with Endometriosis Jersey, raising awareness, building a supportive community and working alongside Government to ensure lived experience helps shape better care and services. Today, I bring together lived experience, women's health advocacy and years of supporting organisations to create practical, inclusive solutions.
Because awareness is only the beginning.
HER exists to help organisations move beyond awareness and create environments where women's health is understood, conversations feel easier and practical support becomes part of everyday culture.
